a portfolio site for developers, by developers.

Most website builders are geared towards writers, photographers and designers, leaving little to no templates for developers. This site was created as a way for developers to showcase their work in a fun, playful manner.

Role: UI/UX Designer + Front End Developer

Design Process + Research.

I wanted to create a site that resembled the everyday experience of a developer and landed on two critical tools: the terminal and a text-editor. After reviewing the most popular text editors, I used Figma to create mockups. The home page resembles a standard terminal and is complete with a typing animation. The remaining pages have been designed to look like a text-editor and a user can select files to navigate through the site. Along the way I spoke with developers, asked what they wanted to see in a portfolio site and continuously asked for their feedback.

Final Product.

This site is an open source contribution for GatsbyJS, so anyone can use it and make changes as they please. You can view the site here and the code here.
